Planning your school travel is easy. There are a range of safe transport options to get to our school. Check our location map, driving details and public transport options to help make the journey to school safe and easy.
Driving and Parking
The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.
When driving and parking near our school, please:
- allow enough time to find a parking spot
- ensure you park safely in school zones
- follow speed signs
- do not make U-turns or 3-point turns outside the school
If you are running late please contact the office, we can have your child wait at the office for you.
Bikes & Scooters
Illawong Public School is passionate about kids being active, riding their bikes and scooters to and from school. We have a bike/scooter rack set-up to keep them safe during the day next to the School Hall.
To keep everyone safe, we ask that students dismount at the gate and walk their bike or scooter to the rack.
Students should always wear a helmet and follow road safety guidelines.
School Bus Services
Illawong Public School has several School bus options for travelling to and from school safely, via public transport.
The area at the side of the school on Fowler Road is a designated bus zone before and after school. Some students may be eligable for a Student Opal Pass
Catching the bus
Students who catch the bus will be under the supervision of the teacher on bus duty at the end of the school day. Students should not exit the school and board the bus until announced by the teacher on duty.
Students who catch the bus are expected to behave safely and respectfully, in line with the Student Code of Conduct.
Please note, bus services are privately operated and are not affiliated with the school. The school is not provided direct information regarding disruption to services and cannot provide parents and students live updates regarding services.
We encourage parents to speak to their children about how to stay safe when using the bus, and what to do should something not go to plan.
